Giraffes are identified by their long necks, equally long and spindly legs and spotted coats. Most Giraffes have a tan, white or yellow coats that are spotted with brown, square shapes. They are mainly Found in Africa.
Height And Weight
A Giraffe’s Neck is 5 feet long and weighs about 500 lbs.. These animal’s legs are also 5 feet long.
Females grow up to 15 feet tall and weigh up to to 1400 lbs. (680 kgs), while Males grow up to 19 feet tall and weigh up to 3100 lbs.
A Group of Giraffes is aptly called a tower, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Towers typically have 10 to 20 members, Who lives in the tower can vary. Giraffes are so social that they don’t have territories. Some towers consist of all females and their young or all male or mixed genders.
Giraffes only sleep around 15 to 20 minutes or less per day.They are always alert after awaking from sleep.

Female Giraffe are termed as cows , while the male giraffe is termed as bulls. After mating the gestation period is about 14 months and female giraffe gives birth to baby giraffe. Baby Giraffe is called as Calves. As mother Giraffe gives birth in standing position, The Calf will drop to the ground during birth. The height of fall can be 5 ft as per height of mother giraffe.
Mother giraffe takes care of the calf and the calf is weaned for about 12 months. The calves reach their maturity at age of 3 to 6 years.
The life span of these animal is 10 to 15 years in nature and they can live up to 20 to 25 years in captivity.
